BPI reminds you that by logging in to BPI Net/BPI Net Empresas website you must always type the full address into the address bar of your Web browser.
Do not login to our online banking services through:
- Links in email messages
- Search results in search engines (Google; Yahoo; Bing; Etc.)
- Addresses stored in your Favourites and/or History folders
Logging in to our online banking services using any of these methods will increase the risk of getting redirected to fake pages, which are designed to capture personal and banking details, for later fraudulent use (access credentials, personal data, code confirmation or information about your mobile phone).
Always be suspicious of any request for information other than that required, even if it appears to be an email or page from BPI, or if you notice that the page has a different format than usual.
If you have any doubts, do not give any information and contact straightaway our services on 800 200 102 (in Portugal) or +351 21 720 77 61 (outside Portugal).
Your code card is personal and not transferable and corresponds to your sign-in to BPI Net/BPI Net Empresas services.
Therefore, you should keep in mind some security rules:
- Never show or give out your code card to others, even if you trust them;
- Do not write down the codes from your Code Card, nor store them in digital format (files that you store on your computer, telephone or any other mobile device);
- Do not install or use apps on your telephone or mobile device that store details from your code card and/or login to the Bank.
BPI only asks you to enter a code when a transaction is authorised at BPI Net/BPI Net Empresas, pursuant to the following rules:
For each transaction to be made, you will be asked to key in one code only from your Code Card or a code and a code sent by SMS;
BPI would never ask you to key in all codes from your personal Code Card.
Banco BPI reminds you that, when logging in to BPI Net/BPI Net Empresas, you are asked to enter two details only:
Membership no./Username
Password
If you are asked to confirm one or more codes when logging in to BPI Net/BPI Net Empresas, or if in doubt about any situation, do not give any details and contact our services straightaway on 800 200 102 (or + 351 21 720 77 61, if you are not in Portugal).
When you log in to BPI Net/BPI Net Empresas you are never asked to enter any details from your mobile phone. Always be suspicious if you are asked any the following:
- To enter your mobile phone number, manufacturer/make and model, operating system, IMEI and ICCID;
- To download/install software on your mobile phone, for any reason whatsoever.
Any request to enter these details may result in malware being installed on the computer you use to access BPI Net/BPI Net Empresas.
Always be suspicious of unsolicited messages received by SMS, and do not click on links contained within them.
Under the pretext of any activation or security updates, these requests aim at infecting your mobile phone with malware for later fraudulent use.
BPI warns you that by entering details of your mobile phone, your privacy and security when logging in to online banking services may be at risk.
